Components for Postal and Parcel Sorting Automation

Esco Precision manufactures mechanical components for postal and parcel sorting automation: the diverter, carrier, roller, guide, and wear parts that cross-belt, tilt-tray, sliding-shoe, and pop-up-wheel sorters consume in continuous service. The same components are supplied to equipment manufacturers for new builds and to network operators as stocked replacement parts.

Sortation networks run around the clock, and the mechanical components inside a sorter are consumed by design. Diverter shoes and arms, carrier and tray hardware, pop-up wheel assemblies, rollers and shafts, guide rails, wear strips, chute components, and guarding all wear on a schedule set by throughput. Equipment manufacturers need these parts in production quantity with consistent quality; operators need them available before a lane goes down.

Esco produces these components to print, or reverse-engineers them from a worn sample when no drawing exists, selecting the process that fits the part: machining for shafts, hubs, and precision hardware; stamping for brackets and formed parts at volume; extrusion for guide rail and guarding profiles; injection molding for wear-resistant polymer components; and EDM for hardened or fine-featured parts. First-article inspection to the specification is completed before production is released, and material certifications accompany the parts on request.

For operators, the manufacturing program is paired with stocking. Kitted spares by sorter type, vendor-managed inventory with agreed minimum and maximum levels, blanket orders with scheduled releases, and fulfillment direct to hubs and distribution centers keep uptime-critical parts in stock at each facility.

  • Pop-up wheel and pusher diverters
  • Singulation, induction, and merge conveyors
  • Flats and letter sorting equipment
  • Belt, roller, and extendable conveyors
  • Chutes, slides, and discharge equipment

Components and assemblies Esco supplies

  • Diverter shoes, arms, and pop-up wheel components
  • Carrier, tray, and cross-belt mechanical hardware
  • Rollers, shafts, hubs, bushings, and idler components
  • Guide rails, wear strips, and chute liners
  • Brackets, mounts, and formed sheet-metal parts
  • Extruded rail, guarding, and enclosure profiles

OEM production supply

For equipment manufacturers

For sorter and conveyor manufacturers, Esco supplies production components and mechanical sub-assemblies to print under blanket orders with scheduled releases. Design-for-manufacturability feedback, first-article approval, and documented process control support new-equipment programs from pilot build through full-rate production, and engineering change is managed against revision-controlled drawings.

OEM Solutions

Replacement parts and MRO

For operators and maintenance

For postal operators, parcel carriers, and fulfillment networks, Esco manufactures replacement and wear parts for in-service equipment, including systems the original manufacturer no longer supports, and holds them in stock under kitted spares, vendor-managed inventory, and multi-site fulfillment programs. These parts are manufactured to a documented specification and are not represented as OEM parts.

Replacement Parts & MRO

Operational challenges these components address

  • Lane downtime while waiting on long OEM lead times for wear parts
  • Legacy sorters for which replacement parts are no longer offered
  • Dozens of hubs each holding their own uncoordinated spares inventory
  • Component variation that causes jams, mis-sorts, and premature wear
  • Peak-season volume that consumes spares faster than procurement cycles allow

Why source from Esco Precision

Esco combines eight manufacturing processes, an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and a stocking and fulfillment program under one supplier, so sortation customers receive consistent components on a schedule rather than coordinating a machine shop, a molder, and a distributor separately. Decades of work in postal and parcel automation inform tolerance, material, and finish choices on every part.

Frequently asked questions

Which sorter types do you supply components for?

Cross-belt, tilt-tray, sliding-shoe, and pop-up-wheel sorters, along with singulation, induction, and merge conveyors, flats and letter sorting equipment, and the associated chutes, rail, and guarding. Components are produced to print or reverse-engineered from a sample.

Are these OEM parts?

No. Esco manufactures replacement parts to the customer print or reverse-engineers them from a worn sample, then inspects them to that specification under ISO 9001:2015. They are not supplied by the original equipment manufacturer and are not represented as such.

Can you supply a network of hubs from one program?

Yes. One stocking program can fulfill to multiple facilities with site-level kitting, minimum and maximum inventory levels, and scheduled releases, so each hub holds the parts it actually consumes.
